The International Journal of Advances in Educational Research follows the COPE publication ethics guidelines.

The International Journal of Advances in Educational Research is committed to upholding the highest publication ethics standards and takes all feasible measures to prevent plagiarism and other publication misconduct. This statement is based on the Journal Best Practice Guidelines established by COPE.

DUTIES OF EDITORS

Journal editors are vital in making critical editorial decisions for all manuscripts submitted for publication. The following are some of the provisions that editors must consider proofreading manuscripts.

  • Editors should ensure that published research material meets internationally recognized ethical standards.
  • Editors should safeguard the privacy of personal information where the editors ensure that reviewers and authors remain anonymous.
  • Editors are obligated to take action when they suspect misconduct.
  • Editors should not automatically refuse manuscripts that raise ethical concerns.

DUTIES OF REVIEWERS

Promptness

The editors of the journal are committed to providing authors with timely reviews. If a reviewer fails to submit an on-schedule report, the manuscript is immediately sent to another qualified reviewer.

Confidentiality

The content of manuscripts is treated with the utmost discretion. The journal employs both a single- and double-blind review procedure. Reviewers are prohibited from discussing manuscripts with anyone, including the authors.

Standard of objectivity

Editors and reviewers must evaluate manuscripts according to their content. The review must be respectful to the authors. The reviewers must provide justifications for their decisions and recommendations.

Acknowledgment of Sources

Reviewers must identify related published works that authors have cited. Any statement that a particular observation, derivation, or argument has been previously reported must be accompanied by the appropriate citation. A reviewer should also bring to the editor's attention any substantial overlap or similarity between the manuscript under consideration and any other published manuscript they are familiar with.

Disclosure and conflict of interest

Confidential information or ideas obtained through peer review must not be used for personal gain and must be kept private. Reviewers should not consider manuscripts with competing, collaborative, or other relationships or connections with the authors, corporations, or institutions involved.

DUTIES OF AUTHORS

Publication and authorship

All authors should meet the requirements for authorship. Such authorship should be limited to those who have substantially contributed to the manuscript's conception, design, execution, data collection, data analysis, or interpretation. All other individuals who contributed to significant aspects of the research but do not qualify as authors should be acknowledged. The corresponding author is responsible for authorship and should include all appropriate co-authors in the manuscript.

Reporting standards

The author must provide an accurate description of the task performed and an objective analysis of its significance. A manuscript should contain enough information and citations to allow others to replicate the work whenever possible.

Originality and plagiarism

International Journal of Advances in Educational Research is committed to discouraging plagiarism, including self-plagiarism, by publishing only original research. Authors should ensure that their works are wholly original and that, if they have used the work or words of others, they have appropriately cited or quoted. Manuscripts containing such errors are routinely rejected, and their authors are informed.

Multiple, redundant, or concurrent publications

Authors should not simultaneously submit the same manuscript to multiple journals for publication. After the initial manuscript has been accepted for publication, it is anticipated that the author(s) will not publish redundant manuscripts or manuscripts describing the same research in multiple publications. Parallel submission is unethical and, therefore, unacceptable.

Acknowledgment of sources

Required in a manuscript is an acknowledgment of the work of others. The author is required to cite the publications that inspired the current research.

Authorship of the manuscript

Authorship should be restricted to those who contribute significantly to the reported research.

Disclosure and conflicts of interest

All authors should disclose in their manuscript any financial or other substantial conflicts of interest that could be interpreted as influencing the results or interpretation of their manuscript.

Fundamental errors in published works

When an author discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in their published work, they must immediately notify the journal editor or publisher and work with the editor to retract or correct the manuscript.
